Texas A&M Is Auctioning Off The “12THMAN” Texas License Plate

If you’re the ultimate Texas A&M fan, the school is giving you a chance to prove it to everyone you encounter – on the road, at least.

The university, along with myplates.com, is auctioning off the “right to display” the 12THMAN license plate for the state of Texas. The bidding runs from August 12th until September 12th of this year.

The proceeds will benefit both the school and the General Revenue Fund of Texas. From aggieathletics.com:

This is the first time 12THMAN has ever been available on a Texas license plate, and it could be the last.  The winner of the MyPlates.com 12THMAN Auction wins this plate for a 10-year term, with first dibs on renewing the plate after that.  The winner also has full rights to transfer or sell the plate to someone else.

It’ll be interesting to see what the winning bid goes for here. Interestingly enough, the auction ends just two days before the big showdown in College Station against Alabama – nice timing, TAMU.
