Photo: Tennessee Apparently Has A New Mascot, It’s Terrifying

Update: This is apparently something called “Oh! Bear” and it’s a tourism mascot. Weird stuff.

Earlier: Tennessee’s classic mascot is a Bluetick Coonhound named Smokey. Since the school’s nickname is the Volunteers–what’s a Volunteer look like?–the university held a student poll in 1953 to select a mascot, and the coonhound was chosen.

The Volunteers apparently have a new mascot. We’re not sure if it’s school sponsored or just a crazy fan who wanted to dress up (or maybe it’s not related to Tennessee at all), but it’s pretty terrifying.

Do better, Volunteers.
