Tennessee from the SEC made it to the ‘third’ round after beating mid-major power UMass, while Mercer, out of the Atlantic Sun, made this game by knocking off Duke. Don’t expect to see this match-up listed on many brackets. The winner of this game of double-digit seeds earns a Sweet 16 berth, and will face Michigan.

Date: Sunday, March 23, 2014

Time:  6:10 PM EST

TV Channel: TNT

Location: PNC Arena (Raleigh, NC)

Announcers: Kevin Harlan, Len Elmore, Reggie Miller, Rachel Nichols

Opening Betting Line: Iowa State -8.5 (130) via Odds Shark

Prediction:  On paper, Tennessee is the power conference team that has been rolling over the last few weeks, and just landed a big win over a very solid UMass squad, but its hard to bet against the team that went head to head with Duke and beat them straight up. Mercer didn’t need any Cinderella magic in beating the Blue Devils. They just looked like the better team on Friday. Tennessee is playing great basketball, while Mercer is a bit of a mystery to non-Bears fans. This one seems like a total toss-up.
