South Carolina RB Mike Davis: “I Still Love My Team Even If Our Own Fans Disrespect Us”
There’s no denying that both South Carolina and its fans pictured a better start to the 2014 season. The Gamecocks, picked by many to win their half of the SEC and play in the league’s title game, had a tough time handling Texas A&M’s aerial attack – Aggies sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill threw for 511 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout victory. As you’d imagine, there is great frustration in Columbia right now.
Friday, Gamecocks running back Mike Davis, who took himself out of the game in the first half after suffering a rib injury, took to Twitter to vent about the team’s fan base. He deleted his post right after, but a number of users, per usual, took screenshots.
Oddly enough, he later followed it up with some praise for Gamecocks supporters.

It’s likely that the combination of the rough loss and Davis taking himself out of the game led to a number of “fans” on social media taking shots at him – no surprise, if so. Still, it’s never a good idea to go after your own fan base. In fact, it’s never really a good idea to have Twitter open when you’re upset about, well, really anything.
