Kansas Writer: Half Of The SEC Reached Out To KU After New Non-Conference P5 Game Rule Was Announced

When the SEC announced a new rule that required each member school to play at least one other power five conference team every season in non-conference play, there were many jokes made at the expense of Big 12 also-ran Kansas. According to Kansas writer Rustin Dodd, it sounds now like those jokes were quite valid.

Unfortunately, those SEC schools might be out of luck.

According to Nationalchamps.net, here are the non-conference games that KU has booked. With the Big 12’s nine game conference schedule, the Jayhawks are pretty much full until 2018 at the earliest.

2015: vs. South Dakota State, vs. Memphis, @ Rutgers
2016: vs. Ohio, @ Memphis, vs. Hawaii
2017: @ Hawaii, vs. Central Michigan, @ Ohio
2018: @ Central Michigan, vs. Rutgers
2019: @ Houston
2020: vs. Houston
2023: vs. Illinois
2024: @ Illinois

Time to dig up Purdue’s phone number, SEC.
