Photo: Ole Miss’ Hugh Freeze Spent Time With Saints’ Sean Payton, Learning About Offense

There might not be a better offensive mind in football than Sean Payton, the head coach/often play caller of the New Orleans Saints. In 2013, New Orleans finished the regular season ranked No. 4 in total offense. In 2011, the Saints ended the year ranked No. 1 in the same category. (Payton was suspended for the 2012 season.)

In 2013, Ole Miss ranked No. 22 in the country in total offense. With quarterback Bo Wallace–a dark horse Heisman candidate–returning, along with a number of starters, the Rebels should boast one of the most dynamic offenses in the SEC come fall. It appears coach Hugh Freeze has sought out the advice of Payton, too, so Ole Miss could show off some new looks this upcoming season, as well.

Ole Miss isn’t expected to start the season ranked in the top 25, but with recent recruiting success, Freeze appears to be building something in Oxford.
