By now, you’ve probably heard that Kentucky’s football program is making some serious noise on the recruiting trail. Now, the Wildcats are starting to advertise themselves like a true SEC powerhouse.
One vital component of any sports team is how well you get your message out — especially when you’re coming off a 2-10 season record and want fans to show up for games. For the upcoming season, UK Athletics bought ads in three magazines — Sports Illustrated, Time and The Week in hopes of boosting season ticket sales. According to UK Athletics, the space in these three magazines costs $15,000 – and the ad is pretty cool.

As you can see, the ad features a Kentucky player in a No. 13 blue jersey for the 2013 football season. “A Nation Awakes” is written prominently in the center of the ad, though your attention is drawn to UK’s home schedule with the UKFB website URL beneath.
With a top recruiting class for 2014 and some well-placed advertising, it’s starting to look like the Kentucky football program is on the right path. Well done, Wildcats.
