Mark Stoops Narrows Down Kentucky Quarterback Decision, Sort Of
Kentucky’s quarterback situation heading into the 2013 season has been a hot topic around the Bluegrass State. Head coach Mark Stoops and offensive coordinator Neal Brown were originally deciding between three sophomores; Maxwell Smith, Jalen Whitlow and Patrick Towles.
Today, Stoops announced that the decision has been narrowed down to Smith and Whitlow.
It’s also looking like Towles will redshirt.
The decision isn’t exactly surprising to the Big Blue Nation, since Towles was projected to redshirt last season before Smith was injured.
Either way, it looks like the two will continue to battle for the starting position on the gridiron. The Wildcats will kick off the 2013 season on August 31st against Western Kentucky in Nashville.
