Alabama’s Quinton Dial Will Not Be Suspended For Championship Game After Dirty Hit
Scoop: Quinton Dial will not be suspended for the BCS Championship Game after the SEC reviewed his late hit in the SEC Championship.
Significance: In the SEC Championship Game two weeks ago, Alabama defensive lineman Quinton Dial took an unquestionably dirty cheap shot on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray. His hit was under further review by the SEC, and there was speculation that he could be suspended for the BCS Championship Game. However, it is not likely that one of the SEC’s big stars would get ruled out by its own conference, right?
Story: According to Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dial is eligible to play on January 7th.
SEC has announced Quinton Dial will NOT be suspended for BCS title game for his helmet-to-helmet hit on UGA’s Aaron Murray.
