Florida Loses Key Tight End Colin Thompson To Surgery

One of Florida’s freshman tight ends will miss a couple of months of playing time. ESPN reports that Colin Thompson has a fracture in his foot that requires surgery.

This will be the second surgery Thompson has had on the same foot.

Florida has three other tight ends, but none with in-game experience. The No. 2 tight end coming out of high school, Thompson was seemingly going to be the go-to guy even as a freshman. Luckily, Florida also has the No. 4 tight-end recruit in the country in Kent Taylor.

Coach Muschamp told ESPN that the recovery could take six or more weeks, and Thompson’s surgery is scheduled for Wednesday.
