Nick Saban On Alabama QB Competition: Blake Sims Playing ‘Faster’ Than Jacob Coker, Still No Decision

Nick Saban doesn’t appear to be any closer to making a decision on who Alabama’s starting quarterback will be for its season opener against West Virginia.

The Crimson Tide had an intra-squad scrimmage today and both competitors–redshirt junior Jacob Coker, a transfer from Florida State, and redshirt senior Blake Sims–took equal repetitions with the first-team offense.

Sims, who’s been in Saban’s program for more than four years, might have a slight edge at the moment, though.

That doesn’t mean Saban is ready to make a call on the competition.

Alabama opens its season exactly two weeks from today, when the Crimson Tide take on the Mountaineers in Atlanta.
