Former Alabama WR Marquis Maze Doesn’t Like Everyone Hating On The Tide’s QB Situation

In his illustrious career at Alabama, wide receiver Marquis Maze won two national championships two years apart, catching passes from two different quarterbacks – Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron. It’s no wonder that he believes that though the Tide don’t have much experience at the position this year, they shouldn’t be counted out of the national title talk. Maze took to Twitter Thursday morning to remind everyone that it is not a prerequisite for a national champion to have an experienced quarterback.

McCarron is Maze’s obvious reference – the former Tide QB led the squad to a 12-1 record during the 2011-2012 season, which ended with a BCS national title victory over LSU. Whether Nick Saban hands over the reigns to Blake Sims, Jacob Coker or one of the underclassmen, Maze doesn’t seem to be too worried. Is he right?
