David Pollack Suggests That Jacob Coker Throws The Ball Better Than Any Other Alabama QB Under Nick Saban

Nick Saban has had good quarterbacks at Alabama, but he’s been more successful with safe, effective game managers who can take advantage of Alabama’s litany of playmakers than anything else. Greg McElroy won a National Championship and A.J. McCarron led Alabama to two more (he was McElroy’s back-up for a third) and was a Heisman runner-up, but neither was a true superstar on an individual level.

ESPN’s David Pollack thinks that Alabama might have its best passer under Nick Saban this year in Jacob Coker, and thinks he should be named the starter now.

Coker has a lot to prove. Transfers and big-armed quarterbacks don’t always work out the way it seems like they should. However, if he can really “spin it”, Alabama could be as dangerous as it’s even been.
