Charles Barkley Compares Manziel To Miley Cyrus, Says Johnny Makes Him Root For Alabama
Sir Charles has never been shy about speaking his mind. Sometimes it gets a little quiet in the NBA offseason without him, but thankfully he still finds ways to make his opinions known.
Yesterday, Barkley appeared on ESPN Chicago’s Waddle & Silvy radio show with Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman. One of the things they asked Barkley about was Johnny Manziel, and what his thoughts are on the star quarterback. Of course, he provided a great answer (Start around 1:13:00 if you are listening to the audio):
“Hey listen, Johnny Manziel, he’s doing something that I never thought was possible. He’s going to make me root for Alabama this weekend. I thought I would never say those words. Johnny Manziel. I am so close to saying ‘Roll Tide’ — Johnny Manziel is annoying me so much that I am really close to saying ‘Roll Tide.’
They’re [Auburn fans] not going to be happy, but Johnny Manziel, oh my God, the only thing saving Johnny Manziel is Miley Cyrus. I mean, are you kidding me? That’s the only thing.
I just think that Johnny Manziel has done a lot of stupid stuff in the last three or four months.”
Barkley, of course, went to Auburn for college, so cheering for Alabama is his worst nightmare — or second worst, behind cheering for Johnny. I’m sad to hear that Barkley doesn’t enjoy Miley Cyrus, however.
