Photo: USC Sends Same Exact “Personalized” Letter To Two High School Teammates, Gets Made Fun Of On Twitter

With schools recruiting hundreds of players in each class at a time, it is probably too much to ask for schools to individualize every little bit of material they send out, but claiming that everything is “personally made” and then sending two friends the same exact letter is a bad look. That is exactly what USC did with Clovis West (Fresno, CA) teammates Darian Owens and Caleb Kelly.

The two recruits received the same letter from recruiting coordinator Peter Sirman and posted the two on Twitter side by side. Luckily for USC, it seems like they’re taking it in stride, but it isn’t great for the program that two potential players blew this up.

Caleb Kelly’s mother Valerie also chimed in, and didn’t seem too thrilled about it:

The two players went on to retweet a few jokes about closing out USC, and some UCLA fans who came down hard on the rival school, but ultimately, it doesn’t seem like there are hard feelings about the gaffe. dmo1 dmo2
