Lane Kiffin Giving Up Right To Vote In Coaches Poll

USC head coach Lane Kiffin had a vote in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but he has decided to give it up. This comes just days after he got caught lying about whether or not he voted his own USC team as No. 1 in the country.

“It is an opportunity and responsibility that I do not take lightly,” he said of the chance to vote in the poll. “However, I find it necessary to relinquish my voting status.” ~ USC’s Lane Kiffin

It is likely that Kiffin will relinquish his vote in order to protect the integrity of the Coaches Poll. While voting USC No. 1 this year isn’t a surprise (many others did), you have to question if coaches are always going to vote their teams up for their own benefit.
