Before Andrew Luck was the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, a rising star quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, he was the big man on campus at Stanford.
Luck, 24, played for the Cardinal from 2008-11, leading Stanford to an 11-2 record and BCS bowl appearance in his final season.
Michelle Wie, who just won the U.S. Open, took classes at Stanford starting in 2006, earning her degree in 2012. She was reportedly close with Luck. The pair graduated together in June 2012.
What was Luck like in college? According to Wie, who appeared on “The Dan Patrick Show” this morning, “he was a nerd.”
Luck describes himself as “a nerd“–if you go to Stanford you kind of have to be, Wie said–so this likely isn’t an insult to the Colts’ signal caller.
