Photos: Stanford Unveils Shiny New Rose Bowl Rings, Which Reference Last 4 BCS Games
It’s been an unprecedented era of success for the Stanford football program. The Cardinal has reached four straight BCS bowl games and won the Pac-12 the past two seasons over the likes of Oregon and USC. Today, the school unveiled new rings for its players, which pay homage to not only last season’s accomplishments, but everything since 2011, the last year before David Shaw took over for Jim Harbaugh.
One side of the ring reads “Back To Back Champions”, while the other has each player’s name and number. The face of the ring has a blinged-out Stanford “S”, as well as the four BCS bowl games listed around the edge. The school included three photos.

Stanford split the four BCS bowl games – it won the 2011 Orange bowl against Virginia Tech, lost the 2012 Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State, defeated Wisconsin in the 2013 Rose Bowl, and fell to Michigan State in this past year’s Rose Bowl. Will the Cardinal reach a fifth straight in 2015?
