Update: Oregon’s Associate AD Says Design, Not Motto, Will Change

Update: Pintens clarified a bit, responding to fans on Twitter who were concerned about the motto. He says that the design on the walls of the stadium will be what’s changing, not necessarily the motto. He also clarified that “Fast, Hard, Finish”, as many believed would be the new phrase, has always been part of “Win The Day”.

Earlier: When Oregon fans pack into Autzen Stadium to watch their Ducks play later this year, there will be a few changes to the scenery. Sunday afternoon, Senior Associate AD Craig Pintens made it clear that the program is moving away from its “Win The Day” slogan and has already removed it from the walls lining the facility. As for what will replace it – his answer was “stay tuned”.

Many Ducks fans associated the “Win The Day” phrase with former coach Chip Kelly, who left ahead of last season to coach the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. It’s very possible that the program, now coached by Mark Helfrich, wants to go in a new direction based on that fact. Or maybe they just feel the need to keep things fresh on the marketing front.

We’ll find out soon. Oregon fans – did you like “Win The Day” or are you open to change?
