Video: Here’s Oregon’s 1-Point Safety From The Fiesta Bowl – With An Explanation
The best thing about sports is that you never know what is going to happen next. In the Fiesta Bowl between Oregon and Kansas State, fans got a chance to see a rare treat — no, a very rare treat — a 1-point safety.
Never heard of a 1-point safety? You aren’t alone, as it had only happened a few other times in college football history. It can only occur on an extra point or a two-point conversion. In this particular instance, Kansas State blocked an Oregon extra point, recovered the kick on the 1-yard line, and then ran back into the end zone where the player was tackled. So essentially it was like Oregon made the kick.
