USC Burned By Georgia Tech In Sun Bowl, Fans Want Lane Kiffin Fired

Score: Georgia Tech 21, USC 7

Star(s): Georgia Tech: David Sims 17 Car, 99 Yds. USC: Silas Redd 17 Car, 88 Yds.

Story: Aside from a field goal unjustly awarded to the Trojans (it was later overturned), nothing went right today for USC. The Trojans were able to hang with the Yellow Jackets in the first half, reaching halftime tied at 7-7. But in the second half, it was all Georgia Tech. Max Wittek was an atrocious 14-of-37 passing, routinely throwing the ball way over his receivers heads, finishing with 107 yards passing, three interceptions and one touchdown. The Yellow Jackets used the triple-option to gain 369 yards of offense on the Trojans, while USC barely cracked 200 yards of its own. An Orwin Smith touchdown reception from Tevin Washington early in the fourth quarter gave Tech a 21-7 lead, and a Max Wittek interception in the end zone soon after effectively ended the game.

Of course, USC fans are livid. The Trojans went from a preseason ranking of No. 1 to losing to a team which had a 6-7 record entering today. As you can imagine, Twitter was ugly afterwards:
