Two Men Tried To Sell Stolen BCS Championship Game Tickets At South Bend Bar, Got Caught

As CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli put it, “The system worked”.

A woman who won BCS National Championship Game tickets through Notre Dame’s lottery never received them from FedEx, even though they were supposedly delivered, according to the South Bend Tribune. She contacted the school to claim the missing tickets.

A few days later, two men allegedly entered Mulligan’s Bar and Grill in South Bend, attempting to sell tickets to the game. Customers at the establishment called the school, who in turn called the police. The police showed up Wednesday and arrested the two men on suspicion of possession of stolen property. The lottery winner finally got her tickets to the big game.

How the tickets were obtained by the two men is still unknown. Why they didn’t try to sell them online is even more mystifying.
