Huge news just broke for fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who have been wondering which quarterback will start for the Fighting Irish this fall.

Today, Brian Kelly suspended junior quarterback Tommy Rees, as well as senior linebacker Carlo Calabrese, for one game each, in response to their off-season arrests, the South Bend Tribune reports.

This is a major blow to Rees, who is in a three-way battle for the starting quarterback job. It remains to be seen whether he can regain the starting position after missing out on the season opener versus Navy in Dublin, Ireland.

The starter will now likely be either Andrew Hendrix or Everett Golson.
