Syracuse Students Camping Out Overnight In Frigid Temperatures For Georgetown Game
Students have flocked to the Carrier Dome over the past couple days, but not to attend a specific event. No, these students are getting in line for an event that doesn’t start for another few days. It’s all for Georgetown.
This isn’t just any Georgetown game. This is the last Georgetown game in the Dome as a part of the Big East. And if that wasn’t enough of an incentive to camp out, it was announced yesterday that the attendance record would be broken for the game with 35,012 tickets sold.
Last night, 43 groups were accounted for at the Carrier Dome with numerous tents pitched at both Gate E and D.
I personally slept out in the tent overnight last night. When I went to sleep, I was pretty optimistic about the temperature. I felt warm and I assumed it’d stay that way. When I woke up this morning, that wasn’t the case. But Otto’s Army is tough and the 20-degree temperatures aren’t a problem.
