The star of tonight’s BCS National Championship Game isn’t on the field. It’s Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend, Katherine Webb. She went from having a few hundred Twitter followers last week to over 70,000 tonight.
Webb graduated from Alabama rival Auburn University in 2011 and was Miss Alabama 2012 (she gave up her crown to Mary Margaret McCord on December 9th). The Twitterverse exploded when ESPN showed her in the stands in Miami. Brent Musburger commented that she was “a beautiful woman” and that kids in Alabama should start playing catch in their backyards in hopes of becoming a quarterback and landing a woman who looks like Webb.
