The No. 1 Fighting Irish have received a special honor as a result of their glorious football season — they’re going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine this week. Notre Dame has been featured on SI 24 times total, and the announcement that the golden helmet would be appearing on the cover came just minutes ago via SI’s Facebook page.
