Notre Dame Extends Win Streak To Ten By Beating Niagara
Score: No. 22 Notre Dame 89, Niagara 67
Stars: Notre Dame: Jack Cooley 24 Pts, 15 Reb, 3 Ast.
Story: Niagara was able to hang with the Irish for about fifteen minutes in the first half, but eventually Notre Dame’s hot shooting blew the game wide open. Notre Dame finished the game shooting a blistering 62 percent from the field, and 50 percent from behind the arc — much of this was due to excellent passing, as the Irish racked up a whopping 25 assists on 31 made field goals. All 11 Notre Dame players on the roster got to play against the Purple Eagles.
The Irish finish non-conference play at 12-1 and return to action January 5th against Seton Hall.
Cooley led all scorers with a season-high 24 points and 15 rebounds. Connaughton had a season-best 9 rebounds and a career-high 6 assists
