Notre Dame Asks Students To Fill Football Stadium For BCS Commercial
Scoop: In preparation for Notre Dame’s huge title matchup against Alabama, the University’s Office of Public Affairs and Communications has asked students to congregate in Notre Dame Stadium and be a part of a 30-second commercial to be aired during the BCS Championship on January 7th.
Significance: “This is your chance to show your enthusiasm for your university and the #1 football team in the land! It’s time to tell the world, ‘Here come the Irish!’” Also, the campus-wide email claims that the commercial will be part of, what is projected to be, the most watched cable broadcast in history (over 30 million viewers).
Story: To be a part of the commercial, students must meet outside the Rockne gate of Notre Dame Stadium at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, December 7th. Only the first 600 students will be let in the stadium, while the remaining students may be featured in exterior shots outside of the stadium. Professional camera crews will require multiple shots, meaning that the filming session will likely go until 5:30 p.m.
Notre Dame: the only university that makes you choose between studying for finals, and being in a BCS National Championship commercial.
