Michigan To Host Irish Under Big House Bright Lights Again
Scoop: Notre Dame will head to the Big House in 2013 to face Michigan in what will be the third night game in three years for the rivalry.
Significance: Notre Dame and Michigan have two scheduled games remaining after the Irish opted out of the series due to its ACC obligations.
Story: Michigan AD Dave Brandon hopes to replicate the magic of the Big House’s first primetime game, a classic 35-31 victory over the Irish, with a rematch under the lights on September 7, 2013. Brandon said, “We have more in store for this game than the initial night game and will work hard to create many WOW moments.” A pre-game ceremony to celebrate 1940 Heisman Trophy winner Tom Harmon has already been planned.
I covered the game last year when Michigan played Notre Dame under the lights…best atmosphere I can remember..
