Johnny Manziel’s Parents Had A Face-To-Face Talk WIth Texas A&M’s AD To Discuss Johnny’s Actions

Scoop: According to NBC Sports, Texas A&M’s athletic director Eric Hyman had a sit-down talk with Johnny Manziel’s parents about how he needs to behave and the responsibility of being a Heisman winner.

Significance: Manziel has been making headlines, not only because he’s the first freshman Heisman winner in history, but because some people are criticizing some of his behavior now that he has this newfound fame.

Story: Before becoming the Heisman winning quarterback he is today, Manziel had his share of rough times. In June, he was arrested for fighting and using a fake I.D. Next came the Scooby Doo pictures. And since he won the Heisman, he’s been criticized for his celebratory actions. There have been pictures of Manziel in a casino holding a bottle of champagne (he’s only 20 years old), pictures of Manziel holding wads of cash in his hands, and he’s had courtside seats at an NBA game.

Hyman and Manziel’s folks had a talk concerning the fact that being a Heisman winner means Johnny has the huge responsibility of behaving like a responsible man and not a party animal. Like Oklahoma’s Mike Stoops said, Manziel “might have three or four Heismans” by the end of his career if he can stay of out trouble and out of jail.
