Jimmy Clausen obviously has a rooting interest in this year’s BCS National Championship Game. The former Notre Dame quarterback made that well-known this afternoon, tweeting out a picture of a T-Shirt he appears to have obtained.

However, he’s not getting the response he’d hoped for. The backlash was swift, and Clausen has now deleted the tweet. Here’s a screenshot of it beforehand.

Clausen then defended himself, downplaying the situation by saying “it’s a shirt people lol”. Are “people” being too sensitive, or do they have a right to be upset?
