Cierre Wood’s Mother Says He’s Leaning Towards The NFL
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Valerie Wood said it was “70-30″ that her son would forego his senior season and move on to the NFL after this year.
Why? It seems there are two main reasons. First, Wood has a daughter, Braelyn, and he wants to be able to provide for her. Second, after taking a low hit last week against Wake Forest, Wood may be trying to minimize the chances that he gets injured before turning professional.
Wood is considered to be a middle-round pick, so being completely healthy going into training camp will be important.
Wood’s mother told the Tribune that she’ll support whichever decision he makes.
