Scoop: At the end of his official visit to campus on Sunday, Greg Bryant (Delray Beach, FL) committed to Notre Dame, according to ESPN. His father, Greg Bryant Sr., reports that the nations No. 2 running back recruit chose the Irish over Oklahoma, Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Significance: Bryant becomes Notre Dame’s 22nd verbal commitment in its 2013 recruiting class and the program’s 8th recruit in the ESPN Top 150. ESPN currently ranks the Irish 2013 recruiting class 4th, behind only Florida, USC, and Alabama.

Story: As the 27th rated overall high school prospect, Bryant rushed for rushed for almost 1,500 yards and 17 touchdowns in his senior year and over 3,500 yards and 42 touchdowns in his past two seasons at American Heritage High School. Bryant should immediately improve the Irish backfield, which will potentially lose both Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood, Notre Dame’s top two rushers respectively.
