There’s one clear front-runner right now in college basketball to win the Naismith Player of the Year Award, and he’s playing hoops in Omaha: Doug McDermott. The star of the Creighton Bluejays is averaging over 25 points and seven rebounds per game to lead his team, which is off to a very respectable 15-2 start midway through the season.
Today, however, McDermott faced a stiff challenge — he had to take on Tulsa Shock and former Notre Dame star Skylar Diggins in a game of P-I-G. Diggins was in Omaha to do an interview, so of course they decided to shoot around a bit:

While I would say that a pro probably shouldn’t lose to an amateur college athlete, there is certainly no shame in losing a shooting contest to McDermott — he can flat-out fill the bucket.
