Iowa State Star Melvin Ejim Took To Twitter To Apologize For Flipping Off BYU Students
Sometimes when playing competitive sports, things get a bit heated and people do stupid things. We’ve all been there — it happens. In tonight’s basketball game between BYU and Iowa State in Provo, the Cougars student body got the best of ISU’s star forward Melvin Ejim.
Ejim played a tremendous game, scoring 21 points on 8-15 shooting, while also chipping in four rebounds and three assists. But late in the second half of a very close game, he fouled out and was given the classic “Left, Right” treatment from the BYU students. Letting his frustration get the best of him, he flipped off the student section in anger.
After the game, he immediately took to Twitter to apologize — he admitted that it was not his greatest moment:
Definitely lost my composure today. I apologize to the byu student section and Iowa state university. What I did was inexcusable and rude.

Obviously, you never want to see players do this kind of thing, but props for Ejim for taking ownership of what he did and apologizing for letting his emotions get carried away.
Iowa State did pull out the victory in Provo, 90-88.
