Video: SMU’s Larry Brown Says The NCAA Is “Full Of Bologna”
SMU’s Larry Brown, the only man to ever win both an NCAA title and an NBA championship as a head coach, is never one to hold back on what he really thinks. So it should come as no surprise that when asked earlier this week about the NCAA’s upcoming vote regarding the “power five” conferences’ autonomy proposal, he gave his true opinion. Brown, being interviewed by Campus Insiders’ Amanda Busick, called the organization “full of bologna” – he made it clear that he does not think that the organization or the schools in those conferences have the players’ best interests in mind.
Brown also comments on SMU not being selected to play in the NCAA Tournament and the Emmanuel Mudiay situation.
It’s an interesting interview. Brown, as the head coach in a conference that will feel the effects of such a proposal passing, obviously feels the need to stand up for his school and his players. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t make some great points.
