Photo: Ohio State Racecar Driver To Wear This Awesome Buckeyes Helmet This Weekend

We’re still a few months away from the start of college football season, but if you’re an Ohio State fan looking for your fix, we’ve got something to hold you over. An OSU junior named Patrick Gallagher will be donning an custom-made OSU helmet in the Pro Mazda Playboy MX-5 Cup this weekend as a tribute to his school. Gallagher competes under C.J. Wilson Racing.

Check out what he’ll be wearing, obviously modeled after the Buckeyes’ football helmets.

Gallagher had this to say about the opportunity:

”I am thrilled to have the support of The Ohio State University and the opportunity to wear the school colors on a unique helmet design. To have the support of so many people from such a large school like OhioState is an incredible feeling. We will be looking to score a win for the whole OSU group!”

Pretty cool. Even cooler? The helmet will be auctioned off after the race, with the proceeds going toward the Hematosis and Thrombosis Center at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
