Ohio State Had Quarterback J.T. Barrett’s Full Name In His Biography Incorrect Until He Became The Starter
Ohio State’s new starting quarterback J.T. Barrett was a bit of an unknown commodity before this week, even to those in the OSU Athletic Department apparently. A keen Twitter user noticed that until this week, Barrett’s official Ohio State biography listed his full name as “John Thomas” instead of his actual name “Joe Thomas.”

We double-checked this using the Wayback Machine, and based on a screengrab from July 20, we can verify that this is real.
Earlier in the week, even Urban Meyer was confused about his new QB’s name, calling him J.T. “Barnett.”
Poor JT. Saturday Urban called him “Barnett.” Pantoni just called him “Joe Thomas.” I’m on-air tomorrow. He might end up “Johnny Football.”

You can’t slip anything by the internet, Ohio State, not even innocent errors like this. If Barrett can lead Ohio State to a Big Ten title with Braxton Miller sidelined, you can be assured that everyone in college football will remember his name.
