The Buckeyes may have something to play for after all in 2012. In a report from ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Ohio State is eligible to win the Big Ten Leaders Division Title this season.
Penn State is also eligible to win the title this season and each of the next three seasons during its postseason ban. While the Buckeyes still cannot play in the Big Ten Championship Game or a bowl game, they can take home some hardware this season.
Based on what Urban Meyer and many players have previously said, they already had lots of motivation to win every game this year. With something tangible to play for now, the team should be fired up now for the rest of the season.
