Update: These Are NOT Ohio State’s Nike Pro Combat Jerseys For The Michigan Game**
***THESE ARE NOT REAL. HERE ARE THE REAL UNIFORMS, UNVEILED NOVEMBER 19TH***
Update 2: The uniforms are fake. What was originally a promising set of photos from an OSU journalism student turned out to be a ruse. We apologize for suggesting they were possibly the uniforms.
Update: We are trying to determine the authenticity of these photos. The student who “leaked” these as the jerseys said he found them from a source within the athletics department – we’re not sure if that source is accurate. More updates as we go.
Ohio State will be sporting new Nike Pro Combat jerseys for this year’s matchup with Michigan on November 24, 2012.
Fourth-year journalism student at Ohio State Jordan Baker has posted photos of what he claims to be the new jerseys via an inside source through the university. So have this year’s jerseys, which aren’t supposed to be officially released by the school until the week before the season-ending contest with the Wolverines, already found their way onto the web?
The jerseys for 2012 look like the 2009 Nike Pro Combat uniforms that Ohio State wore in Ann Arbor, but with a home scarlet top opposed to white. The helmets look much different, also. They appear to be shiny metallic, much like the helmets worn by the Oregon Ducks in the 2012 Rose Bowl Game.
The theme is a “throwback” resemblance of the 2002 National Championship team in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. It has a multi-stripe sleeve from the championship jersey, as well as the classic Ohio State helmet stripe.
More details will soon emerge from both Nike and Ohio State in regards to the new jerseys.
