Photo: Indiana Student Section To Illinois: “Welcome To The Real Assembly Hall”

Indiana basketball’s Assembly Hall is known as one of the hardest places to play in all of college basketball, and proved it again today with a 56-46 win over Illinois.

During the game, Indiana’s student section held up an edition of the Indiana Daily Student that reads “Welcome to the real Assembly Hall”, a knock on Illinois’ basketball arena which was called Assembly Hall, but now goes by the State Farm Center:

It should be pointed out that Illinois’ Assembly Hall opened in 1963, while Indiana’s current building didn’t open until 1971, so technically the Illini have the original building, but it’s not hard to argue that Indiana’s gym is a bit more well-known.
