Villanova Assistant Coach May Have Lied About Playing Career

According to Dana O’Neil at ESPN, Villanova is investigating whether men’s basketball assistant coach Doug Martin lied about his career in collegiate basketball.
In a bio he submitted to the school, Martin included that he played basketball at UW-Green Bay. Apparently, Green Bay has no records of a Doug Martin ever playing there. Green Bay’s website also lists stats from each basketball season. Martin’s name can’t be found there, either.
Even a former player that would have been on the team the years Martin claims to have played at UW-Green Bay said that he never played with anyone named Doug Martin.
Villanova and coach Jay Wright are looking into the matter further.
