Hear What Carmelo Anthony Has To Say About This Year’s Syracuse Basketball Team

The future looks bright for Syracuse basketball. It has officially been decreed by the great Carmelo Anthony that the talent level in Syracuse has “potential”.

“I love it. I love the team this year, I told Coach Boeheim that. We, I still feel like I’m here, have a lot of potential from what I’ve seen in practice yesterday and on paper. We definitely have a lot of potential.”

The former Syracuse star played last night at the Carrier Dome for the New York Knicks. He scored 23 points in a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, his first as ever at the stadium.

“It’s over with now. My streak is over after leaving my college days with a 17-0 record.”

Asked of his opinion on Syracuse moving to the ACC next year, Anthony didn’t seem pleased.

“I try not to think about that. I don’t like thinking about that. It don’t sound right,” said Anthony. “But, you know, for basketball it will make the ACC that much bigger. It’s always good to see Syracuse and Duke play, Syracuse and North Carolina. I wish I could have played those guys when I was here. Hopefully, it turns out for the best in keeping some games in the Garden and keeping the Georgetown rivalry going.”

I have my own blog, love all things sports and am still recovering from the Carlos Beltran strikeout in the 2006 NLCS.
