Syracuse Takes 2-0 Lead On ND In Soccer, Can’t Hold Off Irish In The End


It’s approximately 34 degrees here at SU Soccer Stadium where the Orange are taking on the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Big East Tournament quarterfinal. This is the first time the Orange soccer team has ever hosted a postseason contest.

The Orange take a 1-0 lead into halftime over one of the top 10 teams in the nation.

Ted Cribley scored the first goal, the assist going to Lars Muller.

Lewis Clark rattled the second goal in just four minutes into the second half. Muller on the assist again.

UPDATE: Notre Dame scores two goals about 20 seconds apart to tie the game.

UPDATE: Notre Dame takes the lead with 14 minutes left.

UPDATE: The crowd starts to exit as Notre Dame pulls ahead 4-2.
