Notre Dame Looks For Orange Bowl Tie-In

Last week on CollegeSpun we covered the ACC’s new 12-year agreement with the Orange Bowl. It now looks like Notre Dame wants a piece of that pie too, as ESPN is reporting that Notre Dame is very likely to have its own tie-in to the Orange Bowl.
Final details are still being ironed out, but win total appears to be the main criteria regarding the Irish becoming Orange Bowl-eligible. Notre Dame perennially features one of the hardest schedules in the country due to its independence and scheduling flexibility, so athletic director Jack Swarbrick is likely stating the case for nine wins to be the benchmark for the Irish. The Orange Bowl, however, is likely to want a minimum of double-digit wins from Notre Dame to be included.
More details are sure to follow.
