@ISDUpdate: Kelly just arrived…

@ObserverSports: Team will have a walk-through on Saturday

@NDatRivals: Everett Golson named Notre Dame’s starting quarterback by Brian Kelly

@ChiTribHamilton: #NotreDame HC Brian Kelly: “It was a tough decision, but Everett clearly won the starting job.”

@ChiTribHamilton: #NotreDame HC Brian Kelly: “Everett is the starter. If things go the way were planning it, he’d play the whole game.”

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: We’ve prepared the offense to suit a first-time starter. Have to make sure we put him in good positions on game day.

@ObserverSports: BK: Reps breakdown will be roughly 70-30 breakdown between Golson and Hendrix.

@ObserverSports: BK: No change up package for Hendrix this season. “He can run our offense. They’re both capable of running the offense.”

@NDatRivals: KeiVarae Russell will start at cornerback opposite Bennett Jackson, per Brian Kelly.

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: Not sure yet if Russell will play boundary or field CB position. Will be week to week game plan situation.

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: I think he (Tony Springman) will be on the field on defense. We’re pleased with Tony.

@Matt_Fortuna: All sorts of starting news today: Davonte Neal is #NotreDame‘s punt returner &, in no surprise, George Atkinson III is the kick returner.

 @ObserverSports: BK: “We’re running the offense that fits the players we have…We’re utilizing multiple personnel grouping to attack the defense.”

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: I’ve always been about scoring points on offense. This offense is same one I’ve run. Fits really well w/our personnel

@ObserverSports: BK: “We’ve got some really good tight ends and we’ve got to get them on the field.”

@ChiTribHamilton: #NotreDame HC Brian Kelly: “We would not name (Golson) the starter unless we felt this was the next step toward moving our program forward.”

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: Chris Brown is not a complete player yet, but boy he can run. We like his speed on the field. Daniels has it too.

@NDatRivals: With Chris Brown on the field, Brian Kelly says this will be the fastest team ND has had since he arrived.

@ISDUpdate: Kelly: Danny Spond making progress, but no timetable on return.

@NDatRivals: No timetable for the return on Danny Spond, per Kelly. That would leave Ben Councell in the starting lineup, presumably.
