There have been countless rumors about the possibility of Notre Dame switching conferences after the latest realignment round left the Big East far weaker in comparison to its competitors. The Notre Dame-to-the-Big-12 rumor has been particularly hot as of late, and some have even speculated that ND could still remain independent in football while taking its other sports elsewhere.

But if this is all hearsay, why does Wikipedia claim Notre Dame’s men’s basketball team is now part of the Big 12? Is this a joke?
