TCU Plans To “Color Block The Carter” In Battle For The Iron Skillet

Since 1915, the TCU Horned Frogs and the SMU Mustangs have met in the annual Battle for the Iron Skillet. For this year, the Frogs plan on color-blocking their stadium, according to the TCU Athletics Twitter page.

The 1-2 Horned Frogs are currently on a bye week after losing 20-10 on the road last Thursday to the No. 25 Texas Tech Red Raiders.

SMU (1-1) eked out a close win against lowly Montana State two weeks ago and is expected to face the No. 10 Texas A&M Aggies this Saturday.

TCU currently holds a 45-40-7 series lead and has won 11 of its last 13 games against the Mustangs. The Frogs will hope to turn around their so-far disappointing season, starting with a win against their hated rival.

The Battle for the Iron Skillet is scheduled to kickoff on September 28 at 11:00 a.m.
