Oklahoma State is coming off of a solid run, led by star guards Marcus Smart and Markel Brown. Travis Ford will have to rework this year’s roster a bit, but his 2014-15 edition of the Cowboys will be playing on a neat updated court this season.
Oklahoma State’s Instagram post goes into heavy detail about the updates:
Eddie Sutton Court at historic Gallagher-Iba Arena is getting an updated look for the 2014-15 season! The new design features the new Big 12 Conference logo, trimmed in #OKState orange and black, as well as a few tweaks. The court was officially named in Eddie Sutton’s honor on January 15, 2005, in a ceremony following Oklahoma State’s 83-73 victory over Iowa State. The win was the 768th of Sutton’s career and moved Sutton ahead of Henry Iba, his mentor who coached him during his 36 years at Oklahoma State. This updated design continues OSU’s commitment to a traditional design that honors the rich history of Gallagher-Iba Arena and its trademark white maple court that has been in service since 1938.
The Cowboys basketball schedule is not yet finalized, but we do know the first Big 12 opponent to travel to Stillwater this season will be Kansas State on January 3.
