Report: Oklahoma’s Coaches Want Dorial Green-Beckham To Commit To At Least 2 Years Of Play
As originally reported by Oklahoma’s Rivals.com site this morning, Dorial Green-Beckham is on the Sooners’ campus. It doesn’t appear that Bob Stoops will meet with DGB, though, as he is out of town, on vacation.
Snagging Green-Beckham would be a big coup for the Sooners. It’s possible, though, that even if he commits to playing at Oklahoma, he could depart from the program before ever playing in a game. He’ll likely have to redshirt this upcoming season, and could potentially then declare for the 2015 NFL Draft.
The previous issue is why Oklahoma’s coaches want Green-Beckham to commit to at least two years of play at Oklahoma, so he sees the field for at least one season, according to a report.

From the report:
Spoke with a source about the DGB situation and he said that the general desire of the coaches is that DGB will commit to playing two years with OU before jumping to the NFL so that they can ensure that he at least sees the field as a Sooner in case he does not get a waiver
Green-Beckham would likely be a high draft pick if he were to declare for the 2015 NFL Draft. Despite his off-the-field issues, he’s an elite talent, and a team would probably take a gamble on him if he stays out of trouble in the upcoming year.
It’s also possible that Green-Beckham could file for a waiver from the NCAA and attempt to gain playing eligibility immediately. If he has to redshirt this upcoming season, he’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.
